WTKI offers training courses covering Well Testing, Subsurface, Completions and Subsea and specialist courses including Comingled Well Behaviour and PTA as well as three levels of Technician training leading to competency. Sample Courses are shown below.
Our courses are delivered by experienced engineers providing a unique blend of practical know-how and theoretical depth. We offer both public and in house courses which we can tailor to suit your organisations particular requirements. We also provide guidelines addressing job design, planning and wellsite execution.
The courses are highly interactive, practical and delivered in easy to understand language. We provide optional testing for those wishing to add a more defined competency training element with courses for beginners, intermediate and advanced. Competency training can also be tested in the field. Our courses are becoming recognised by major operators. We are in the process of offering online courses – which this space for more details.
Whether from the perspective of the project manager, the subsurface engineer or the technician; all our courses can be geared to all levels.

Nick and Paul give you what you need to confidently supervise and manage a Well Test Operation from a high level. Given their combined years of experience in the area, they walk their talk. Few times I have left a training course feeling so confident and getting exactly what I expected from it. Being run through engineering theory, field application, HSE, operations, equipment, procedures, field tricksand how to read between the lines, clearly tells me that they listened to my expectations when we walked into the room on day 1. Highly recommended! Javier Rhonda (Santos Completions Engineer)
A very interesting, well structured, contemporary course covering all facets of well test planning, well test objectives, operations and data gathering. I found that all the modules were relevant especially those on the current regulations, process safety, formal safety assessment and competency. The course was well presented by Nick last and Paul Nardone both of whom have many years of practical experience of well testing operations in hostile environments and were able to convey the many concepts discussed in a well organised and informal manner. I would recommend the course to engineers of any discipline wishing to become more familiar with the planning, safety issues, hardware required, and execution of a well test in today’s environment. Chris Murray. Field Supervisor, Metrol Technology
I attended Well Testing Project Management courseheld by Well Test Knowledge International (WTKI) in May 2012. I found the course very informative and well presented; it has given me further information and knowledge on Well Testing Project Management. I would highly recommend this course by WTKI, the course is of value to anyone who has a role in connection with Well Testing. On completion of the course, then with the understanding of Well Test Project Management, the bases of work and execution for a successful Well Test are understood. Jim Teviotdale, Australasia Regional Director, Optima Solutions UK Ltd.
Well tests are not a regular run of the mill type of operation for anybody in subsurface, drilling, completions or associated functions. As such well tests require careful preparation and planning in order to execute in a safe and effective manner. The well test execution course from WTKI provides a thorough grounding in the totality of the full value chain required for proper well test project management and is an excellent foundation step to beginning a well test project for all functions involved in a well test. Matthew Flett, Senior Reservoir Engineer, Chevron
I attended a 1-day class on Subsurface Aspects of Well Test Design which I found to be very useful. As a geologist, I gained a new perspective on the planning details needed to successfully implement a well test and acquire meaningful data. The design considerations to obtain proper fluid samples and pressure information for a quality reservoir interpretation were very useful. The interpretation workflow, coupled with a live demonstration of the Saphir software, gave me more insight into the integration of the test results with the subsurface model. The need for multiple build-ups and longer test sequences became apparent as the instructors led us through the concepts and mechanics of a well test. I would certainly recommend this class to geoscientists, reservoir engineers, and exploration and development managers. Janet Murphy, Earth Science Team Leader, Chevron
Paul and Rita from WTKI recently conducted an intermediate well testing fundamentals course in our Roma facility. The course content will further expand the knowledge of our operators, which is essential to Kinetic’s commitment to constantly improve the service quality delivered to our clients. Paul’s comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter and passion enables him to deliver the course and engage participants in a manner that our operators related to, and allowed them to readily absorb the content. I feel the benefit to Kinetic and our clients will be significant and long lasting, I highly recommend the course, and WTKI. Richard Wall, Operations Manager, Kinetic
